Upcoming Events at Shanti Shala
We’re opening our doors for more than just yoga. Come experience community, voice, and connection in small, intimate circles on the floor.
*Talking Circle*
A Talking Circle is an ancient practice rooted in many Indigenous traditions where a group sits in a circle and shares in turn. Only the person holding the “talking piece” speaks, everyone else listens with respect. It’s a space for honest dialogue, deep listening, and community. No fixing, no interrupting – just speaking from the heart and being heard.
At Shanti Shala we gather in small groups of up to 25 people, seated on the floor in a circle. Each session has a theme for reflection, but you can share or simply listen. Perfect if you’re craving real connection beyond small talk.
*Singing Circle / Circle Singing*
Circle Singing is like a drum circle for voices. Inspired by Bobby McFerrin, a leader creates simple sounds, rhythms, or melodies on the spot and teaches them to the group by ear. The parts layer together into brand new music that’s never sung before and never the same twice. No sheet music, no “right or wrong”, no experience needed. It’s playful, spontaneous, and builds confidence through sound.
We meet in circles of up to 25 people, sitting on the floor. All voices welcome – from total beginners to singers. You’ll leave feeling lighter, connected, and buzzing with good energy.
*The space*
Both circles happen in our yoga studio: floor seating, cushions, candles, and that quiet, grounded vibe. Max 25 people so everyone has space to be seen and heard.
